maybe surgery??

Post by sammy07 »

hey guys!! i’m new my name is sammy. i have been diagnosed with scoliosis since the summer of 2020 and i ma currently on my 2nd back brace. i have a 3CR curve and i’m sure what all the curves are but the last time i went the highest one was 40 on my upper back. i. was told that even though i do scroth every day , and wore my brace in 8th grade for 23 hours a day it just stayed the same and nothing got better . now i wear the brace not to school and mostly to bed as i was told me now i’m being told i’m most likey going to need surgey and i don’t know what to think. i am also i competitive dancer and am wondering if it will ruin my dance and i won’t be able to do it. i am told that i would only get upper surgey and not a rod. so if anyone is a dancer, or going though the same thing please lmkkkkkk☺️☺️

I have a 38 degree curve. But I remember when my doctor talked about surgery. luckily I am far away from it! I will be thinking about you! And remember No matter what you’re going through, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I also just happen to be looking at surgery with a 45˚ thoracic curve that was previously 38˚, so I feel you! We can do this!

Hey girl! I’m a dancer too. I had to stop dancing because of my stress fracture and I know it sucks. I have friends who have had a rod and still dance, yet they can mostly only do ballet. If you can’t dance after surgery, I know that God will point you to where he wants you to go. My scoliosis is what made me fall in love with running. Hope this gives you some hope and I’ll be praying for you ❤️
